Granny's gone and done it again

I've quit trying to grow them in 5 gallon buckets because they didn't do well for me. I think the dirt in the buckets gets to hot. I eat at least 1 tomato a day and sometimes 3 when we have them.

Granny is it possible to sharecrop a place for a garden to someone who doesn't have one and split the produce with them for doing all the work. Just a thought. Well my break is over. Got to go and make some more noise. I don't think the chickens like the tiller the least little bit. They've been fussing all morning about it.
that never occurred to me. It would be nice. I cant even get my grass mowed. Pretty sure it needs bush wacked whatever that it. Ive never seen one. Half city girl here. Probably too many trees here for anyone to be interested. Dont work too hard!

Good evening everyone. I've got plenty of aches and pains tonight to justify my meds for sure. That big tiller has roughed me up good but I got all of the sweet corn patch tilled from both directions. Tilling up heavy sod is not easy but it is mostly done. 2 more small areas to do that won't take more than an hour or so and I'm done busting sod. Bought some seed potatoes today that should make a hundred or more pounds of Yukon gold taters. Hope to find some red Pontiac seed potatoes tomorrow and get some of them too. We want to can some for the first time this year. May even can some beef stew if the carrots and potatoes are ready at the same time. Finally found some beet seed today. Enough for a start for pickled beets but not enough. Road trip tomorrow and will look there. I'm going to lean back in my chair and temp a nap while I wait on supper.

One more thing. Sweet corn will be high in the stores this summer. I paid $24.99 for a pound of hybrid extra sweet sweet corn. 2 other varieties cost me $18.50 for a pound. . What cost $24.99 used to cost me $4.
I thought about raising corn, but I am sure the varmints would eat it.
