Granny's gone and done it again

Took Tom to er finally. Dr said it looks like I got him there just in time. Ordered antibiotics for him and gave him a special dressing . Luckily we were only there for about 2 hrs. She also wants him at the wound clinic by Fri. Im not even sure I have enough gas to take him there.

That’s good. It would have gone septic. Glad he agreed to go

Washed 8 doz eggs. Did laundry. Prepped several kinds of veg for a cheeseless frittata for dinner. Should be interesting. Could use a nap. Have not cleaned coop yet or gathered eggs. But I will.

Was working steadily in the heat after lunch doing odd little jobs including starting a compost pile with almost 20 empty feed bags full of brooder litter. I use empty feed sacks for removal and then compost bag and all. Have a piece of a bucket of fertilizer I don't know what is and am going to add that a little at a time to make the pine shavings decompose faster. I got stopped in my tracks because of 3-4 wasp stings on my right hand. Ma got me the bottle of Benadryll and the Cortisone cream immediately. It's 92° out now and I'm to woozy to even drive the John Deere around. We will go out after supper at 5. Need to finish a couple of small places where beans didn't germinate that need replanting. Then I need to mark rows and put down fertilizer that okra likes and till it in. Meantime I will nap for an hour.

I'm so glad you got him there in time. One of my first cousins didn't go and died of of all things in this modern area of medications, "Gangrene." He was in his 50's.
