Granny's gone and done it again

I'm doing that. My time to eat is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

I think my body just got used to it and has gone into starvation mode and is now hanging on to every calorie for dear life. I have metabolic issues anyway. Fatty liver, diabetes, gastroparesis, GERD.... also hypothyroidism but I don't know how that fits into the puzzle. I just know that I eat way less than anybody but my body refuses to lose weight. Dr ordered Ozempic for me today but ins. is refusing to pay for it. I don't need it just for losing weight, I need it for the diabetes and fatty liver. It would be nice to get the creeping weight down though.

:hugs :hugs :hugs I have a lot of the same stuff. Diabetes, GERD, I think they said I have fatty liver too or like the start of it but yeah. Also for me, asthma. Overweight. And the mental health stuff.

I’d die of hunger lol
I did at first, well, almost lol. It gets better. When I smell the pancakes hubby is making, that's rough. He saves me a plate though in the fridge. I look at the clock and see I've got to wait 3 hours so go do something to stay busy.

I don't have anything so didn't pay attention to the medical bonuses of it but I know there were some. There was a show on not long ago about how it cures Type 2 diabetes, too.

Hey, check this out! IF diet is supposed to help with GERD!

https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/984377?form=fpf

"The authors note that intermittent fasting has shown benefits in coronary artery disease, inflammatory disorders, obesity, and diabetes. Proposed mechanisms include anti-inflammatory effects, weight loss, and alterations in hormone secretion."

How much does it cost? I heard it is really expensive.

I am overweight by 30 lbs, but have lost 11 lbs since March doing that IF (intermittent fasting) thing. It's so easy: It's either your 8 hours to eat or it's not—black and white. It's not a diet really, it's just changing when I eat.

No counting calories, no exercising required. I could have lost more if I'd given up having giant bowls of ice cream and some other quite fattening things during my 8 hours to eat, but I still lost, so I'm good with it.

I stay up late at night typing (retired from a night job), so my 8 hours to eat are from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., then the other 16 I have coffee, water, diet soda, and chew a lot of sugar-free gum, but nothing else. You can pick your 8 hours for whenever you want, but just make it so you'll be successful to not eat during the 16.

Google the IF diet if you want more info.
That sounds like they pattered this after the way they feed Cornish Cross Chickens. They think we might be from Cornwall, England?
