Granny's gone and done it again

Be careful out there, Larry. You might think about getting one of those personal coolers I've seen at WM and on line. There's different kinds. One is like a wet towel you wear around your neck, I don't know what keeps it cold. I've seen one that has a little fan. Working in heat like that czn be dangerous, but you know that.
The coops were filled with feed and water last night. I opened the doors on the 4 that can roam. Watered my 6 hills of squash so they can keep growing like weeds. Got to make a run to town for feed before lunch. They have a tendency to run out on holiday weeks. Waiting on a call about Ma's broken glasses. Hoping they can pop the glass back in and get them to work for a couple more months. Sure would like a nap. Peas are not dried off yet.

I forgot to hit the post button on this much earlier.

We both got very hot picking the peas but they are picked and so are the tomatoes for the day. The best thing I saw out there is we have some of the Lima beans setting beans for the first time. It's been years since we have had fresh Lima beans that were not left on the bush to long so they could be easier shelled by a machine.

Larry you're right. Maybe next year you can downsize your crops and birds. You will be a year older. ❤️
We have downsized the birds a lot now. We will be planting muscadine grapes and blackberries where a lot of annual garden is growing now. There is not a lot of work with blackberries or grapes and timing is not near as critical as annual vegetable crops. We are already setup to barter for things we can't grow with grapes and blackberries.

I was a slave for 5 years to my first husband. Got married the day after I turned 17 and had a daughter 2 weeks before my 18th birthday. It was a horrible time in my life. I knew I would leave him but I needed to grow up some first. I was afraid.
Granny when I was an early teen or maybe preteen I remember the talk of the grownups was about a 16 year old girl marrying an 85 year old man. When ask why she did it she would answer that she had rather be an old man's love rather than a young man's slave.

Granny our tea gets drank before it can get old. For every cup of coffee you drink I drink a glass of iced tea. We make a gallon at a time. If there is a glass left in the pitcher at night I pour it in a glass and drink it for breakfast the next morning. "Waste Not, Want Not".

I'll check back in later. Good luck grocery shopping the day before the big holiday. We got ours done yesterday.

I'm concerned about Twist and his pups and those long haired woolly girls of his too.

I know about bad former husband's. I'm thankful that part is over and met my Scott. Glad I have some great memories now. I'll bet you were surprised to find out what it was like to be treated like a lady when you met Tom. :)
