I went very close to there once.Been out the NYC a couple times. Once to drop baby brother off at the Merchant Marine Academy and one other time. Sister was out there for a couple years as well being a Nanny. And dad's brother lived in Long Island for at least 30 years.

Many years ago, due to a purchase on eBay, I caught a teacher stealing from a school there. I bought boxtops for education on eBay for my sister who saved them, and they came to me in a dozen baggies labeled with the classroom # and teacher's name on them. I found out which school it was and contacted the Sussex County Sheriff. They wanted me to come there to sign a statement and show them the evidence. I had a friend who lived out there so I could stay with his family. I thought why not. I flew on a free ticket I had anyway. I met with them and they wound up arresting the teacher and her husband who was a janitor at the school.
I got a little tour of Sussex County the next few days. They asked if I wanted to go to NYC (an hour from there), and I passed on the offer. We could see it from somewhere we were, though.
