I've always said a person can get ..too much..therapy. I tried it back in the 80's. Rehash. There was more to it. Made things worse in a couple of ways. And, this guy was flirting with me big time. No, just pretty much bruise and smash, thanks.
Wow, @Debbie292d sounds painful! I cringed reading that! I hope it heals quickly. (My toes are still curled!)
@SourRoses , I read your spoiler before you deleted it and found it fascinating. I agree with others who have the gripe against conventional psychotherapy that it's virtually useless. Take your money, sit and listen. I was dx bipolar around 1993, and I can't tell you how many shrinks I went through ... They'd take a history on me over the course of several months, and about the time I thought we were getting well acquainted, building rapport, poof! They'd leave the area, get promoted or something. Back to Square One with a complete stranger! "Tell me a little about yourself." Seriously? It was excruciating going back over the same old same-old, over and over again! The only one that gave me any relief was the one that did some kind of eye-motion therapy. That really helped. And prayer, yes. And getting on the right meds.
