Granny's gone and done it again

Why do old pictures hurt so much?

I've been trying to restore my archive since the old laptop met a watery end (long story). BYC has been pretty helpful, actually.
I just found a thread from 2011 when I first got my heart horsey, Bear.
Had him 5 wonderful years. He passed in 2016, on September 14th... almost 8 years ago. I haven't changed one bit since, just frozen.

The last one was a "bad pic" but I think he looks just the way he would coming back down from heaven.

Morning, Grannypeeps! We are on our way to Centralia. Summer vacation is officially over and we are taking our precious boy up to the academy to begin his last year of high school on this foggy morning. Hope everyone has a great day, I'll be in and out.
Is this school like a Charter School? Less students?

Beautiful. And I like your question. Why do pictures hurt so much?
At my age I now have a few that tug at my heart with sadness but can also bring a smile with fond memories.
Beautiful horse. ❤️

Good Morning Granny Land. Wishing every one a good day with less pain than yesterday. I've got the pump running sprinklers on the last block of the fall garden. Tomatoes, peppers, pole beans, and summer peas. Going to rest until 1:00pm and then turn it off. It's already 82° and will be 97° soon. I'm going to chill and lay low until September most of the time so I will be fit for working out doors in the cool that September brings.

And Granny I do understand the rib problems you have. Mine is giving me fits too. Probably not like yours is but bad enough it keeps me awake without a full dose of pain meds to sleep with. Just maybe cool weather will help.

I don't know what a Charter school is, Cynthia. It's a Seventh-day Adventist Academy, a boarding school but also has "townies," day students. Students attend from as far away as Kansas City and even from Iowa, and all across MO. There are kids actually from all over the world, my Kid's roomie is from Russia and I know some are from Rwanda and other African and Asian countries. Some are subsidized by their churches and/or by the IA-MO conference of SDAs. My Kid worked through the summer selling books to help finance his tuition. Other kids worked as camp counselors. I don't know what the school population is. 4 or 500 maybe? Just a guess. I'll look it up.

Oh man it's going to be a long day. Five hours or more to the school and five back ... and my left hip is already saying nope. I don't know what's up with this, I've never had trouble with it before, but I can't get comfortable in the car with it. Took two Tylenol already. Wish me luck.

I've had one Trammadol, one Tylenol 500, a 750 muscle relaxer, and a 600 Gabapentin. I normally like to skip morning and after noon meds but need to rest today and let the rib heal if it will. I see the ortho doc soon about hip replacement or at least a shot in the joints. It's been over a year since the hips were injected with something that did a good job for a year. I'd really be glad to get one of those once a year if it keeps working. It surely worked better than PP type meds. Oh I had a meloxicam too for my hands. I can take one in the morning and if shelling peas at night I can take another one. No more peas to shell for nearly two months then there will be quite a few for a couple of weeks.
