Granny's gone and done it again

Yes, but like I said there are ways to get in even if you can't afford full tuition. Nobody is kept out because they can't pay, and the government is kept out of it. The local churches help, the conferences help, and there are often ways the students can earn some of their tuition during summers as I described earlier. Years ago almost all of our schools had work-study programs but child labor laws put paid to those. We had gardens, orchards, greenhouses and other industries the older kids could work in a couple hours a week to help defray their expenses. It was a good way for youth to learn real life skills. We still teach some of those life skills, like shop classes, carpentry, mechanics, cooking, animal husbandry, etc., but the students can't earn any financial credit from them now.
Teaching children life skills... Seems to get lost more and more.

I despise fb, but for all of the people I would lose touch with. The groups can be useful for specific interests, aka Ameraucana breeding, plumeria growing, etc. But it gets worse all the time. Lately they use "posts" as adds, that defies all of the powerful ad blocking from duckduckgo. It's a horrible, terrible, yucky platform.
I only have family and 3 friends from high school..oh..two chicken people, but don't see much of them on there now.
