Granny's gone and done it again

I was right! Hehe! Look at those white legs, modified pea comb with so much straight comb influence, softer feathering, cushion style saddle. I'd peg his orp parent as lavender cuckoo.
So you can call yours "Orpaucana" if you want to... Or Canaorp lol
I love it, thanks! I was playing around with the idea of calling them - don't laugh - EEcaunas. If they breed true. I like Orpaucana too though.

It's that darn cushion style saddle that's making it so hard to sex his sons! At four months, they should be showing good sharp saddle feathers - and they're not, or few of them are. And they're not crowing or jumping on the girls, either. The worst they're doing is chasing the littlest girl away from afternoon scratch and worms.

The pea comb is a pretty good indicator of the blue egg gene, so green or blue eggs. My first gen crosses of Am + Orp yielded medium green to very light green eggs. Second gen is leaning back towards blue so far.
Any pullets with straight combs are unlikely to lay blue, probably tan.
Splits just mean only having one copy of the lavender gene. So they would look black but be able to pass on lavender. But since they're all lav ( 2 copies) that doesn't matter.

Did you say you wanted to keep a boy for breeding?? If so, pick one with a pea comb if you want him to have at least one copy of the blue egg gene.
Thank you, that's very helpful! I hope to sell the others.

I assume you meant to say something to my quote too or else didn’t mean to quote it LOL

Oopsie! I did... I was just going to say, for anything else you try stick towards Indica, the CBD heavy one. The THC in Sativas and mixes can be more amping and rather offset the CBD calming effect. Hope that helps a little and isn't just annoying. I have a habit of trying to convince people what to do, it's hard to keep it in check. When I was a teen, I decided our grownup family friend HAD to buy the orange tree she was looking longingly at in the nursery store. Ok, in the end she bought it, but she was very annoyed with me, and kinda looked at me askance every time she watered it when I was around.
