Granny's gone and done it again

@CapricornFarm Wanted to show you my air dry clay project. Last month I found a Native American nativity set on Ebay similar to the one that I had made 25 years ago. I parted with it when I downsized, one of those things that I wish I had hung on to because now I can't find it even if I had a way to get it fired.

This one is porcelain and smaller than my original. The one thing that was missing with it was two cacti like the ones in the old set so I went to work. Here are the results.

I would love to get back to doing ceramics but there isn't anyone around here who has a business to buy bisque or green ware let alone a kiln to fire anything.

Several years ago a fellow HAM went into a nursing home and sold out her household, including a kiln and all the equipment which I found out after the fact. I sure wound have snatched that up had I known.

I'm kinda meh oh the air dry clay. There is a type that you are supposed to be able to fire in your oven that I might try next just for f
I got rid of all of my ceramic stuff when we left FL. Had to leave a bunch of stuff behind. But I pretty much have what I need now, including a kiln, wheel, and slab roller!
Love your cacti!

Ha! Never heard it called a brown cow, we always called it a purple cow I guess because plums are purple? Maybe it's a regional thing since the last time I mixed one up I was working in IL.

If we really wanted to get things on the move for a patient we would dump in an ounce of Miralax. I never had to go to those efforts with one of my patients. They usually saw me coming with the glass of prune juice and MOM and immediately had to go in order to avoid the cocktails.

I have the IBS with C. Big time C. My gastroenterologist told me to drink at least 80 ounces of fluid a day, eat high fiber, use Miralax and Fibercon. I have to say, it does work except my stomach doesn't tolerate the high fiber any more so I just use the water, Miralax and Fibercon.

Oh, and avoid stress. Like who can do that in today's world. Doc once told me he never advised people to avoid stress because life by it's very definition is stressful.
I take Senna tablets daily for constipation. IBS is miserable.

How is Tom doing through all of this? We all value our privacy and right now you have no privacy at all including your body, your house, everything. For many reasons it's very understandable that you are under a lot of stress.
When I was a teen,I was 'housekeeping' for a young Mother (they had 2 little children) who just gave birth. The same day the baby was born, the Grandfather who lived with them passed away. The neighbors did her laundry and she confided in me that she was never so embarrassed. Her clothing were stretched and torn and she was going to throw them away when the baby came. The point is, anybody who is a caretaker or housekeeper should respect your privacy. And in my experience they do. ❤️ Though I admit when we had a visiting nurse I do remember sticking the dirt dishes in the oven!
Oh dear. Sometimes we worry too much about what other people think. My mother was like that. I picked up on it fir several years. Today? I know better.

Dang pop up ads are back.

Before this I was taking Zolpidem (Ambien), and I was getting addicted to that. One thing I like about the Tizanidine is, I can feel it starting to work, so I can log out and shut my phone off. With the Zolpidem, I'd be texting or posting and next thing I knew, I'd be waking up, and I'd see that I'd posted stuff I couldn't remember and that made no sense! I mean, I'd be wide awake (felt like) and next thing you know I'm out like a light. Did not like that.
I think my mother got addicted to that Ambien. She was already starting to get Dementia. Didn't help any. 😕 She went down pretty fast once in a nursing home. 6 months.
