Granny's gone and done it again

Looks like we might get just enough of a shower around 6:30pm to ruin the drying sweet potatoes so I've got to go out in this stifling heat and bring them in. Mas going to pick the eggplant near them. Outside of tending chickens nothing else will get done today. Digging the sweets yesterday did a number on my shoulder I know. I'm not going to make bad worse out there digging more today. I have a week or more before they really need to be out of the ground.

Hey all, I drank a whole bottle of mag. citrate and nothing so far. Lots of pain. Housekeeper came and made salmon patties with Mac. and tomatoes. Something different I guess. Nurse came and didn't really do much.

How bad was the fire ants?

Bad enough they find you first and start gnawing on you before you can blink. Haven't cut into any of the sweets yet that have fire ant holes in them. Damage may be minimal and it can be bad. We will try and salvage all we can out of those for a ham, pineapple, and sweet potato stir fry. The potatoes get cut up so using from a partial potato is better then throwing one away because it isn't a baker.

Sounds like you might just have a real log jam lady. Once upon a time my dad's youngest brother got into a lot of guavas. He ate seeds and all. Seeds taste very good but it's like pumping yourself full of cement. My grandmother used a corkscrew to fix his problem. Granny have you got a corkscrew lying around somewhere by any change?
