Granny's gone and done it again

It's ridiculous really. People who really need them have to jump through hoops to get them. Every time the pharmacy refills my pain meds I get a stack of pamphlets about dependency on pain pills and here is what you can try instead of taking prescription pain meds. Like. If hot or cold compresses worked do you really think I'd be taking prescription pain meds? I complained to my doc about it and he understood my disgust at them. He said it's not like I'm popping them like candy or selling them out of my basement, I'm a senior who needs pain relief so I can live a quality life.

Still I have to go in once a year, pee in a jar and sign a pain medicine agreement so I can get meds for another year.

They don't hassle elderly and not so elderly patients in nursing homes for taking pain meds a lot stronger than the ones I am taking but everyone else gets treated like criminals thanks to those who do abuse the system.
I agree

@Nomadicus I'm so sorry about your rooster. I love roosters which I guess is why God has blessed me with so many of them. I adore my little Silver Duck Wing bantam boys. They are so funny and friendly. One that I helped out of his shell this spring and named Rascal greets me every time I walk into the run and coop and wants cuddles. They are all natured like that and it will hit me hard when I lose one of them. The oldest are now around 6 or 7 years old so they are getting up there.

I saw that also. Later this afternoon I was looking at the news and saw a 4 lane highway that had collapsed also. The devastation is mind boggling. So many lost everything. I guess there is something to be said about being land locked like we are here.
When we live up in NW MO in Livingston County we had two bridges collapse one spring when more than the normal amount of ice started moving down stream pushing whole trees along. When the trees built up against the bridge supports the pressure became so great it took the bridges out. One of those bridges cost me a lot of money devaluing a 40 acre block of land. The bridge was never rebuilt making it a long way around to get to the property. It was an old metal bridge.

Oh no! I had that once and it was awful. Here's hoping hers is just a mild case!
Thank you! She'll be okay. We've all had it more than once through the years. The white patches on the tonsils are diagnostic so you go in and get a Rx for amoxicillin and you're good to go. Always feels like razor blades in the throat to me. GC never even spikes a fever when she gets it. I do and also ache all over. Haven't had it years. Hope she keeps it to herself, lol!

I got the spinach soup made. Also fried up some of the coral mushrooms (they weren't that great IMO but DH loved them) and made pretzels. Now those were worth the effort!

Dipped mine in a cashew "cheese" sauce I'd made the other day. Does not really taste like cheese to me but it's yummy!

Well shoot, Larry, that's about a bummer!

Also the fact that cell towers were damaged. The world is so social. Can't imagine being cut from from other people in every way possible
