Granny's gone and done it again

well I am caught up and still need to eat something.

I did get all the ditches mowed at the farm today.

AND I thought that Old Gold might have been pg even tho the ultrasound in Feb said open.

Well she has a nice Royal calf. So started this calving season with Hailey (also tested open and calved less than the month later and finally Old Gold, bless her.

Strange but all 3 Royal calves this year were out of my Golden Trims and Old Gold was the mother of the other 2 , Nugget and Mein.

Interested to see who's the daddy which the DNA test will show next spring.

Good question! I would think that would help at least a little.

@CapricornFarm if you aren't already taking a supplement that includes MSM (some Joint pills) it's a really good thing to add to reduce inflammation. It's simply sulfur, and very safe as it's in most natural foods we eat.
Inflammation plays a big role in ouchies, which is why they stick a bit in the Joint supps (but not a full dose).
You do have to be careful of the other medications you are taking when you take MSM. :)

Been preparing today as best we can.

Yesterday we were in the cone (about an hour north of Tampa), today it's shifted just enough south that we're not in it. If it stays on this path it could make all the difference for us.
Our sweet neighbors welcomed us to come over to their house any time of night, they're leaving the door unlocked.
Our chief concern is that the RV not tip over from the winds. We don't have tie-down straps & anchors despite being on a concrete pad meant for RVs.
Spent part of the last few days looking into installing last minute anchors but it's just too expensive for us to do right now. However we will make sure next hurricane season we are fully prepared. I guess we got a little tired and lazy about it.
Kept wondering if our insurance will cover a tipped-over RV or if they have some way to weasel out. And where we would live. But I'm just going to keep my faith in God... I was quite sure He told me the storm would go a bit south, and so far it looks like I heard Him right (always the hard part!).

So earlier I was out at Wal mart for some last minute things. Didn't plan on going but someone ate all my Spaghetti sauce and used Moms tea supply.
While I was there I picked up a soft t-shirt and socks for my go-bag. I felt a little silly buying clothes but, it's handy to have stuff you know is ready.

ALL of the bread was gone, every last scrap. All of the TP (not that we needed any, I wanted Viva paper towel and I got some!).
The frozen section was raided. The chips aisle was bare. And Peanut butter only had a few weird options left.
It's really odd what people decide they need to buy in emergencies sometimes. 🤔
Oh, and the camping aisle was stripped of everything but tents and chairs. Apparently no one needs a tent. I was hoping they might have some small auger anchor thingamies I could use with these ratchet straps we had gotten for the coop... but I couldn't find anything so I'm going to have to redneck it tomorrow morning.

Unlike Helene, Milton is passing to the south of us, so the wind we will get is coming from the Northeast instead of the Southeast this time. That means it's going past the coop first 😓

Oh, and I stopped in at the gas station on the way home for mom's cigs, and they were out of gas still, the nice attendant lady told me they had gotten 3 shipments of gas in the last 24hrs trying to keep up, and she still has to work tomorrow. Yikes. Publix is closed for the next two days. But Waffle House is still open, and everyone knows that's the gold standard of hurricane warning systems.
Praying for your safety. Head to that kind neighbors home if things start rocking too hard!
