I use the same one!I'm with you. I only use apple scented dawn. Gave up trying to find detergent that doesn't either make DH sick or give him a rash. Even the Dr says to stay away from chemicals when I clean, that includes lotions and perfume. Sucks when you've got fleas in the house!
My GC, who worked in a vet's office for a while recently, told me that Dawn dish soap kills fleas! When puppies that are too young for normal flea remedies would come in with fleas, they would bathe them with Dawn and she said it would kill the fleas instantly. And in fact we just used it on her Ryder puppy after my DH said he saw one on his arm. We use the original blue formula with the baby duck on the label.I'm with you. I only use apple scented dawn. Change of subject. Sort of, still bug related. My GC, who worked in a vet's office for a while recently, told me that Dawn dish soap kills fleas! Thanks, Cynthia, good idea, I'll take it under advisement. I'll start taking pics of Rojo's other foot and logging the process. If /when it heals, I may write an illustrated article. The scab at the moment covers almost the entire surface of his foot pad. I'll take a pic tomorrow night and post it here Thursday.I didn't mind. The chickens never flinched. I don't get the..covering their head up thing working on that. They healed up every time.
Maybe you should do an article on what you do and how. A lot of folks are still doing the cutting. Sure was good to see them not limping anymore. That has to hurt walking on those hard lumps. Better even walking on the bandages. Which had to be changed a few times before not wearing them. Work. View attachment 3965670
For Beetles, especially potatoes beetles, I use lime. Rabbits I use lime. For blight, I add a little bleach (chlorine) in water and spray both the plants and surrounding soil. Both lime and bleach have to be readministered frequently. I also use a lot of baking soda and vinegar for cleaning.I use the same one!
what about some sevin dust?
I used dawn at first for fleas but the puppies shouldn't be bathed constantly and if the fleas are in carpets or surrounding areas, they jump back on then and you end up having to bathe them to often. When DH got the extreme itches, I got flea medicine from the vet. I sprinkled borax and baking soda on the carpet and swept it in. And then I would vacuum it. I hadn't seen any flea for a long time but will continue to treat the puppies over winter. I hate doing it but what will I do if DH gets sick?My GC, who worked in a vet's office for a while recently, told me that Dawn dish soap kills fleas!
