Headed for St Louis. Taking the Kid back to the bus. DH's car is in the shop. Took it to the dealership. They said it needs a new water pump AND thermostat. Hope it will be fixed next week. My car's more comfy anyway but needs a front-end alignment.

@pertnear, the tire place recommended new tires on my car too, bc they are over 5 years old although they still have plenty of tread. You agree, or no?

That's what they were originally saying was wrong with yours last event, wasn't it? Or was that your DH's car. I forget.

It depends. Dry rot can figure in. Sometimes you can find cracks running length wise in the tread.

Yeah it was his car. Plaza Tire said it was the water pump so we took it to a place to have it replaced. But that place said it was good and they checked the thermostat too, and all hoses and connectors, they said. But about a week later the engine light came on again so we took it to the Chevy dealer. It's a '12 Traverse.

You are braver then I am. I went on a double ferris wheel in Mi. and they stopped us (Tom) at the very top. Well, I screamed and there went my teeth!After we got off and my legs could hold me we found them.

You're right about that! At least it wasn't pouring down rain or snowing that night! But ... we were only 4 miles from that restroom!

Only 4 miles? I was in a few contests as a kid but I never made a stream 4 miles long.
