Granny's gone and done it again

I fully understand and I don't blame him or Drs for feeling that way. Drs can decide how to handle things through their own discretion.
As can patients as well. They can find another Dr. In Granny's case, it would have been more ethical for him to tell her he won't do it unless she stops smoking instead of telling her after the procedure.
I've had so many different Drs and surgeons throughout my life. They can vary so much in bedside manner. The only reason I canceled my knee surgery this year is because I kept feeling uncomfortable about this surgeon's manner with me in office. I canceled, went to another, and by then the gel shot had started to work somewhat. This surgeon was awesome in explaining that those types of shots take time to kick in. He wasn't upset that I came in to let him know I didn't think I needed surgery discussion or possible surgery after all. He was happy for me and told me he would be more than happy to give me the next shot to see if it would work again for me because it's better than having surgery. I wonder why that first surgeon couldn't have told me to wait and see if the shot would work. I had told him that I had it and how long ago.
Yes, I've had a few not so nice guys out there. But mostly good. :)

My late sister's house was valued at half a million many years ago and I told her to take the money and run. This was in Santa Barbara, CA and it was just a 3BR 2BA simple ranch. She said no she was going to do a bunch of remodeling first. I said that was a waste, the buyers would want to make the changes they wanted but she insisted she knew best and I knew nothing. Well she messed around and messed around and the bottom dropped out of the market and suddenly you couldn't give a house away. People were upside down and were literally walking away from beautiful fancy homes way nicer than hers. This would have been in about 2005 or thereabouts I think. Take the money and run!
My daughter in laws mother just told me about their experience with updating a kitchen floor they put in to sell. They went by their old home a bit later after moving out. There on the front yard lay all of that brand new flooring. The buyers evidently didn't like it. So yes, we're not painting our green kitchen cabinets. We've had so many folks see it and say they love it! What we'll do instead is offer a 5,000 dollar carpet and paint allowance. There are 2 bedrooms that could use new carpet. Not horrible but I was considering getting new last year..for this year. Didn't know we were moving.:)

When I had it before (end of 2020, beginning of 2021) I ended up in the ER twice and got admitted for an overnight due to dehydration and very low potassium. So I'm just trying to stay hydrated and I am taking a potassium supplement. I thought I had eaten something bad and it had run its course through the night bc I seemed better during the day today. I did eat through the day, lightly, (pudding, soup, crackers, clear liquids) but now at bedtime it seems to be starting up again. That's why I'm wondering if it could be Covid. Seems like if it was food poisoning I would have been sick all day. Idk. It's weird. No fever. I do ache though, esp guts.
You keep using the same word I used this time. Weird. I kept saying to the kids, this cold is weird. Not running the same as it usually does for me, meaning a regular cold..and oh yes..I also ended up going to the bathroom a lot this time. I decided it was time to be tested. Sure enough. You may have gotten it from your DH but just don't have the cough yet.

I think I will go take my last meds of the day. So I will say Gnight all, sleep well.

I'm glad you went to a different one. The second one sounds like he also has better communication. Sometimes we have to follow our gut.
