Granny's gone and done it again

Hi peeps, I have been asked to start a new /continued thread here because Grannys got a big mouth and may be responsible for some glitches on BYC .

I have been a member on here for about 3 yrs. and have posted mainly in my own thread. The old thread will not be closed but I do ask my family and any new friends to please post here.

We are a family based thread meaning that the people that post here become very close to each other. We strive to treat each other with respect and kindness. We are for the most part a mature themed group. Lots of cutting up and a little bit about chickens. Hopefully you will find homemade crafts, Gardening tips, home life, a few recipes (not mine , your welcome) Yaks galore, A whole hog-pog of chickens from mutts to high brows. and maybe a goat or two.

To my family, I am sorry I am dragging you around and all our pictures, memory's are stored somewhere else. Hopefully , together , we can begin anew like we were never interrupted.

To any that wish to jump in Welcome to Grannys.

Well, I’ve got this to say about that …

This looks like where I’m supposed to write.
I’m currently rebuilding my flock. I have 8 mature birds of which 4 are roosters. Jungle Fowl actually and that’s the ones I’d like all to be but that will take time. I have about 25 jungle hens but they are about 30 days old. Then I just received 30 New Hampshire Teds on a straight run so I’ll have several roosters. By next spring they will all be free ranging all day. But it’s dangerous as I must have lost 20 birds in ‘23.

Welcome to granny's Thats a big loss. Have you considered a guardian dog? I hope your new flock will fare better this time around.

A guardian dog. Now that’s interesting. My problem is that the FM road in front of my house has been the death of many of my dogs over the years
An electric poultry fence and a guardian dog just might be a good investment. I saw a chicken lying in the road dead downtown last week. They run loose and evidently she crossed the road at the wrong time looking for a nest to hide her eggs. I know that she came from a game flock.

Evening, all. Wow, @Cynthia12, nice snow! Hope it doesn't break your trees!

A lot of traffic across my little private drive today. I'd forgotten deer season started today. Seems weird, the weather being so nice and all. Upper 60's most of the day, brilliant blue skies. Feels more like mid-September. Hard to hunt with no snow for tracking, I'll wager.

@Nomadicus, enjoy your company, sounds like fun! Don't let them eat all of Ma's yummy jellies!

What a long day.I have been tired all day. I'm kinda puzzled. Thanksgiving, Nancy ask me if I were having company and at that time I didn't so I told her no. I guess she has plans to fix us one. Enter Toms daughter, She is coming for Toms Bday, AKA Thanksgiving and didn't tell me she planned on cooking til a week later when I offered to she said no, she had already bought the ham. Then she tells me she didn't know if it would be Thursday or Friday depending on her dh work. I told Nancy this and she said she was cooking anyway. Thursday. Soo I tell DD she is cooking Thursday and Then she tells me she is coming Thursday to cook and she wished I hadn't of told Nancy to come Thursday. Then tells me to find out what she is cooking so she doesn't double it. I told her the more food the merrier. I'm almost at the point to tell both of them to not come. What do y'all think? BTW, Nancy is buying a cooked chicken from Kroger's. I much rather have that then ham. Robert wont eat either one.

I think this:

It won't go to waste, any that doesn't get eaten can go in the freezer for another day, right? Don't cancel anybody, that is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
And that's what I said to DD. If she doesn't like it I guess that's on her. Right?
