No they wont throw me out. I just wont be free to sell it w/o them getting theirs. It would be forced to sell when something happens to me.

not only that but once he is in there this house is no longer mine to leave to Robert. They want you to sell it and they get their money back for taking care of him. It's about what's best for Tom though and right now, that's not me

You already know you will be there for Robert until you can't. I think I've talked about my brother..if not..here goes. I had a sister that was mentally handicapped as you know..also a brother. Yes, my mother took care of both. I won't get into detail as to how my brother is, but Granny, your Robert reminds me of my brother. When mom passed, we knew I would be in charge of Lisa. We worried about David. He could drive. But let's just say the state knew he wouldn't be able to care for himself..completely. He was known by the county for those in need already. He was getting SSI. So, mom is gone Lisa is taken care of. David is given an apt. to live in with a roommate. We worried about that!! They got along! David has been in that same apt. since mom passed in 06. His car is no longer. He walks everywhere. Takes the bus out of town to Provo where there is a place where these folks, like him, meet and visit, play games, have lunch. Sadly he's developed Diabetes. He isn't walking as much, but the walking helped him in the beginning! We worry somewhat of what will happen to him when he passes. Again, the state will probably take care of it as they did some of my sister. I have another sister that has children here and they will make sure he's buried near mom or Lisa.
Maybe you can talk about this type of care for Robert to someone that would know. He won't be left out in the cold either.
