heat from who? Its still grown here but not as much as it used to.
The old order Mennonites as a whole agreed that if scientists were finding that people are getting sick and dying from it then it shouldn't be something that we continue with. You didn't get excommunicated for continuing to farm it but it was strongly agreed that we should discontinue. Most people farm produce now.
Then the government was also trying to get people to stop smoking. That hurt the Farmers. If you couldn't sell your tobacco, it lost weight over time and you got paid by weight. So when prices were down, it didn't pay to hold on to it till prices went up. That was on Dad's last couple years of farming. When he died, my brother was just 17 and Mom wanted him to keep doing what Dad did because that's the experience he had. When he got married and took over the farm he changed to dairy and produce.
Someone came in and bought the barn to make furniture and my brother built a dairy barn, with Mom's blessings😊

Big can of fruit salad drained well, apples, grapes and bananas. Can of mandarin oranges for the top. Cut into bite sized pieces. Big tub of cool whip and a container of cream cheese in a different bowl and mixed together well. I think you can use a mixer but I never do. blend them together and mail it off to me! hahaha A few add ONS if you want. Mini marshmallows, Nuts, just whatever you like.
