Granny's gone and done it again

Just got home a little bit ago from a social evening at the church. Vespers first, then games and snacks. It was fun.

I'd made something called Christmas Crack. Boy is it addictive! Pretty easy to make. You lay saltines or graham crackers flat on a sheet pan with a silpat on it. Then cover them with a caramel* made with butter and brown sugar, it's real easy. Put that in the oven at 400°F for 5 minutes. Remove and cover w 16 oz. choc chips. Let stand 5 minutes then spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top. Sprinkle lightly w kosher or flake salt and top w chopped roasted pecans. I covered it with plastic wrap and pressed the nuts in, then refrigerate 2 hr or overnight. Break into pieces to serve.

*Put 1 c butter and 1 c brown sugar in saucepan. Heat till butter is melted, cook and stir till boiling. Stop stirring, set timer for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, pour over crackers. Do not scrape pan.

Exhausting day! Paid bills and updated books for last month and this one. Why did I do that to myself??? :th Then made out the menu for the week, and compiled the shopping list.

Then, because I needed to use some eggplant up, I decided to make pita pockets with fried breaded eggplant, grilled red bells, tzatziki sauce, olive, feta, etc. Then I discovered my pita was moldy!! The date on it was 2/7!!! So, I looked up a recipe and made my own pita. Well, I wasn't sure that would work out, so I also made a mushroom tortellini soup. 💤 Dinner took 2 1/2 hours to make!! But, it all turned out really good, and we are stuffed because that is way too much food! Oh, and of course we needed a Greek salad to go with all that. 🤣 No matter what I make, we always have a salad. :idunno
Valerie, will you come cook for me? :love

I was at Dairy Queen with my sister this afternoon when a man and woman walked up and showed me a picture of myself on his phone. Only I didn't recognize any of the setting in the picture. Turned out to be his brother who had passed a couple of years ago at the age of 72. I'm 73. The guy had the same beard and long hair. I'd have never thought it wasn't me. They were passing through from Nashville. They say everyone has a twin
Wow, Pert! When I was a young woman my dad came home with a picture of ME leaning against an airplane in a short dress and asked when I had modeled for this picture! But it was NOT me, I never had posed for that picture! But this girl had everything, my legs, my figure, my hair, my face. It gave me quite a turn!

I wish our hadn't. When we moved here it was a suburb. Not anymore. :(
I'm glad we bought this place 2 miles outside a small town. We have neighbors but not close enough to be a bother. There is a school within eyesight but there is only traffic twice a day for a few minutes. After 4 in the afternoon it gets very quiet!
