I heard the penny is going to be, er, terminated. No longer manufactured. So I had my DH, who works at a bank, bring me home $10 in pennies today. Someday they may be very valuable. Maybe my GS can use them to pay for HIS grandchildren's college educations. Ya never know!

I've got boocooze of pennies. I never trouble myself to spend them but you always get plenty in change.

Penny costs over two cents to produce and they said the nickel cost 14 cents.

We have a jar of pennies from long ago. A few of iron and lots of wheat pennies. I know someone in FL that is a numismatist that I can trust to evaluate our coin collection. Mercury dimes, Buffalo nickels, Flying Eagle quarters, old half dollars and more.

Goodnight Granny Land. Need to rest and hopefully sleep. Longer road trip tomorrow. Need some things that are only available out of town. I'd rather make a trip once a month or even twice a month than to live in a city.

I agree with that. When we had a kiosk at the mall, everyone either used cards or 'sent' money. In that population of people, if they decide they want to buy something else and they want their money back, they tell the bank it is an unauthorized payment, they didn't receive it or not as described. Because we were a business and a business'should write off their losses' banks always refunded the money.
I tried clearing out the account at the end of the day, but then I was in the hole.
I texted receipts to people. I even had someone call me and accuse me of stealing the money if their card because they saw the receipt. It's my word against theirs and the buyer is always right.

I would encourage everyone to fight to keep our paper money. Lots of bad with only cards.
