Here I have something to cheer everybody up, look what happened in my coop today!

The mama is the one on the left, at least she's responsible for hatching it:

The one on the right has two eggs. They both had two. No idea what happened to the other egg in the red nest. Hatch day could be any day up to the 9th or 10th.

Tomorrow I will move Mama and baby to the brooder coop. Or rather I will supervise GC doing it. Nearly killed me hobbling out there tonight on my walker to get those pics. I probably shouldna done it.

I put a pie cherry on top of each one today. And I'm calling them CinnaYums. They will be frosted before serving. Besides cinnamon, they have nutmag, ginger, cardamom and orange peel.

These were a tribute to my DH#1's mom. She won awards and ribbons year after year in her county fair with her cinnamon rolls, with a cherry on top and frosting. She made the best sweet rolls in the county, year after year. This was in Ulysses, Kansas in the 60's and 70's. Man I loved that woman. I learned most of what I knew about good cooking from her.
