Granny's gone and done it again

PT sux. Started my simple one today. Just an arm dangle but I'm supposed to unharness myself from this complicated sling 5 to 7 times a day? Fat chance. 1 it hurts getting the sling off and on 2 as does the exercise. They will get 4Xs today and hope for more tomorrow.
It sounds crazy to me they would want you to start less than 24 hrs. post surgery. Shoot, you should still be under the influence.

Yah but that's why. Lots of pain meds on board, hopefully not feeling too much pain, able to do the exercise without feeling too much pain. Got to keep the joint loose as it heals, very important or you end up worse than before.

Unfortunately I'm pretty tolerant to narcotics. I'm nearly 5'2" tall and 116#. They gave me hydrocodone 7.5/325 and it ain't cutting it. DH said he would be snoring. I'm sitting here with only the edge off the pain. All it does is constipated me. May add gabapentin to it tomorrow as I am ready to chew my arm off.

I knew the first three days would be tough. I am into day two this afternoon. One more day. Sigh. I did order a wedge pillow that will be here on Thurs that will let me stretch out in bed. Doc said no problem as long as my shoulders were supported. Never slept well upright.

Don't worry guys I'll do 5 reps tomorrow out of sheer stubbornness.

Glad your home @microchick
What is this ice machine y'all are talking about and where was it during menopause?
The brand I had was called an EBIce. It is basicly a beer cooler with a recirculating pump attached to a tube that goes into a wrap that looks like a big heating pad. You fill the cooler with ice and a little water and wrap the pad around the knee or shoulder and let it run.

Yep that pretty much sums it up for mine also. They didn't tell me. Just had DH sign for the little beastie. Is this rented or did we just buy it?
