Granny's gone and done it again

I'm pretty much completely in a wheelchair now. Right knee does not hurt much unless I stand on it, but left ankle keeps collapsing! I am to stay off the knee so I am trying to get dr to set me up with Home Health, I can no longer GO to PT as neither GC nor I can manage the wheelchair to go anywhere in the car. GC will prob need surgery to anchor that kneecap at some point, and I will too, on the meniscus, after the bone heals in 6 - 8 weeks. Poor DH trying to manage with both of us out of commission! .

Oh, that sounds like a lot. Sorry you're going through so much. I'll be praying for healing for the both of you!

ETA: (tomorrow when you're awake) ... Do you have wraps / braces for the left ankle and your right knee? It can be hard to find the right one, but once you do they can help a lot.

The dr gave me a really good one for the knee, thanks. With instructions to STAY OFF IT.

Morning all, Nurse supposed to be here between 11-11:30. A new one. I asked her to call first so I can get the dogs up. She is new. I will have to tell her everything to do.
I'm having bladder cramps right now. Hurts.

Oh Tom did really good with PT yesterday and she told him he could walk w/o the walker unless he was feeling tired or weak. He has also gained 10 lbs.

Blue I'm so sorry to heat that things are going so rough for you right now. Trust me I know how frustrating things can get. When the neighbor called about seeing the car that had crashed through the fence I said I had had surgery. 18 kids and no offers to help out? What happened to the good old days when your neighbor would show up at the door with a casserole and plate of cookies when the elderly neighbors were laid up and needing help.

My husband is trying to juggle everything by himself also and God love him doing a great job. He did ask me today if he could strangle a few chickens and i told him he was starting to sound like me now.

After a miserable day yesterday i got 9 hours of sleep thanks to the wedge pillow i got from Amazon.

Pain is only a 4-5 instead of an 8. I see the surgeons NP/PA on the 13th. Hope to get the sutures out then.
