Farms, still praying for you and your DH. The cross you bear makes mine seem like a minor inconvenience.
I got a call from someone in Cape this morning. They all talk so fast! They have me scheduled to see a bone specialist next Thursday at 10:40 a.m., or at least the bone specialist's PA. It worries me a bit... but after all I do have two legs, surely I can get along with just one if need be, right? If I need a peg leg I'm getting a turquoise one. With rhinestones! And a sandal, not a clunky tennis shoe!

Love your sense of humor @BigBlueHen53. You'll probably see the PA first if they do it for you like they did for me. Let's think positively though. The foot shall stay firmly attached to your leg. Find something else to bling out.

DH uploaded one of my 'shoulder' pics. I took one look at it and said Gawd I look like an exhausted old woman. So please have pity on me I usually don't look quite this bad. I've discovered recently how hard it is to do simple grooming things...like put on mascara, comb your hair and get dressed with your non-dominant hand. I think I suggested at some point to tear a hole in the top of a big garbage bag and pull it over my head. Anyway. 8 days post op. Here I be.

You look beautiful, MC. Wish I had thought to have DH take pics of me post- surgical. Amazing they can do so much repair (and so much damage, lol) with just those itty-bitty puncture wounds, ain't it? And you're right, we sure do take for granted how handy it is to have the use of two good arms/ hands! But ... this too shall pass. We'll be okay. Both of us. I'll walk again, on both feet, and you'll use both hands to wash your hair. And we'll both celebrate!

He took another pic of me pre op in the hospital lobby and the surgeon gave me pics of my shoulder as he repaired it. 2 sets of holes at the top are for scrub nurses to use probes in order to hold tissue out of the way while he is anchoring the tendon. They inject water into the shoulder to lift skin and tissue from the joint.

I made the mistake of watching several procedures on Youtube.
