Granny's gone and done it again

Visiting nurse will go over wound care with me tomorrow and PT will also come out and then a video visit with the GI. I find it a little upsetting the visiting nurse didn't tell me DH has an ulcer on his buttocks. I would have gotten him to change position more often. It feels like they didn't want me to know
I always thought ulcers were serious, maybe it's not a pressure wound. Even the hospital didn't tell me how to care for it. Is it not serious?

Today feels like it has been a really loonngg day but I don't feel like I got much done. My cousin's called me, she grew up 1/2 Mike away from me. Had a deep brain aneurysm at 13yrs old and 5 years late was hit by a drunk driver who left her unconscious on the road on top of her bike. She learned to confide in me when she lost hope.

Those people from France couldn't figure out how to navigate eBay. I finally ended my listings and walked them through the sale on pay pal. Violated eBay rules but couldn't get them to find all the listings on eBay. I wrote my phone number on one of the pictures I sent her so she could text me. I was going to call and it came up France...

Sat out in the yard with the puppies for awhile. A beautiful day. Then I visited with my autistic/downs syndrome niece from Kentucky on the phone. Guess I was on the phone too much today
Wow, farms ... your family has been through a lot. How is your cousin now? Did she recover from the hit and run? What a wicked thing. :hugs I worked with some Downs kids at the therapeutic riding center, they were so cool to work with, I loved them. I loved all the kids but the Downs kids were really special.

Pressure ulcers can be very serious if they are not taken care of. They can get larger and get infected. Be sure the nurse takes accurate measurements and you look at it yourself. you need to be able to watch for changes in the wound especially if they expect you the do the wound care. She never fully recovered, needs some guidance in making big decision. She still walks with a stiff hair and has memory problems. When we were with the youth, she was embarrassed to walk with a cane so I would walk side by side with her and carry her cane. She no longer uses it. I used to carry her pillow because she was embarrassed to sit on a pillow.

The autism shines brighter the the downs syndrome for my niece. It's hard to understand her but we still visit for an hour

Then discovered that we were low on bread so through the makings in the bread machine while working on the cake batter. All done with my left hand and all done before sitting down with a cup of hot mint tea.
You are amazing, MC! Hats off to you! Bread AND a cake, one-handed, before breakfast! :bow Wowzers. Happy Birthday to your "other half!"

All I did today was date 8 dozen eggs and wash and carton 10 dozen. I had to do it in stages and am pretty much wiped out. Oh, and took a shower, does that count? :lau
