Granny's gone and done it again

You are welcome and thanks for the reminder. I need to make a loaf this afternoon. Thank God for bread machines is all I can say.

Got a call this morning. I start PT on Monday morning. 12 days left for the sling. :weethe lady I talked to said "wow you really had a lot done!"

No lie......
That's what they said about me. Now? I am using it just fine. You will too!

I know you're done by now, but doing rice stove top, I've learned to use a bit more water than it calls for and, cook it a little longer too.
I think it depends on altitude, a little bit. Mine turned out good actually. I used a method I saw on tv. Wash it good, start in COLD water (!). I've always added rice to boiling water. Amazing.

I really like rice! I have a small rice cooker now but for years just cooked it in a heavy bottomed pot. I was looking for some ways to use leftover rice and found this video on Youtube.
I had to laugh at the hostess, if you tied her hands I don't think she could have talked. I have tried some of the pilaf recipes she demonstrated and they turned out good.
Thanks, Iris! Will watch later tonight, this is almost half an hour long.

Surely she was exaggerating when she said being in New York, she only had one electrical outlet.

So I had RMSF last June (2024) and had to be treated a second time in November (2024). I am having a ton of neurological issues since. Did it take you awhile to get back to normal?
So sorry to hear this, hawk.
I think you are new to Granny's - welcome!

Bread is rising and I've got some rice started. This is the next thing on my Bucket List: learn how to cook excellent rice! Have discovered that my stove does not actually have a Simmer setting. I need to call the Fix-It guy again.
Just buy a rice cooker. Best invention ever
