Granny's gone and done it again

Blue look for a basket that you can attach to the top bar of your walker. I got my father one of those little walkers that had a basket attached to it along with a seat.

He loved that thing.
My PT does not want me to have a Rollinator. I had wanted one. He says you can't saafely go up and down stairs with one because they have 4 wheels, no stable feet like a regular walker. I can do steps in mine. Maybe not the ones going down to the basement (I'm afraid to try,, ours are quite steep and only have an 8 or 10" tread, very hazardous), but I can manage the outdoor ones to get out to the car.

That type walker is called a rollator. My MIL had one and used it not only for support but to carry things. She would put her plate on the seat and things like her phone, a pen or a magazine in the basket.
Never knew they had a special name. I loved the hand breaks on them. Residents where I worked used the seats on them a lot to park and take a rest while they were out walking. Handy things.

Yup. I asked my ortho to write me a Rx for one. She wrote "rolling walker." So the pharmacy gave me a standard walker with wheels on the front. :( I almost refused it but it's about 40 years newer than my late MIL's, and in much better shape so I took it. Besides ... the day we got to the pharmacy there were a bunch of workers fixing the damage from a car that had plowed into to the front of it and it was a little distracting. Apparently the woman driving had had a medical emergency. Fortunately nobody was hurt. Even the car had barely a scratch!

Sorry to hear that. They seem to be popular. I think my dad's only had rollers on the front. I didn't have a lot of stairs in my house. Just one to the front door and two going down from the back porch.

Thanks. It's okay. I see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm going to be back on my feet soon! I believe it! :old

... so if you ever need one, be sure the dr writes ROLLINATOR, not "rolling walker" on the Rx pad.
Rollator walker. :) I have a nice one that i bought at a yard sake years ago. Told Scott it was a real nice one. I knew from seeing them used in the nursing and assisted homes I worked in. Said..you never know, I may need it someday. Little did I know!
Keep it in my t.v. room. It is nice having something to sit on when you stop.
