Tomorrow a guy from church who is a cabinet maker is coming over to install vents in my brooder, which is basically a Rubbermaid storage unit about 4 x 5'. The top slides back which is nice except not when it rains of course. The vents I got are actual floor vents but they're all I could afford. I got six at about $14 ea. The ones I REALLY wanted are about $54 ea., and that ain't happening! At least these will let the stale air out (I hope! ) and keep any rain out.

Oh great. Lightning, thunder and rain. Time to wrap a Benadryl in cheese and pill Sammy!

Yes I think the last time I got one it was $10. This just a straightforward vent, no moving parts.

I use the shredded Mexican cheese and just use the warmth of my hand to compress the cheese around the pill. A bit like Superman squeezing coal into diamond.

Only he would really need to start with a chunk of coal about as big as .... I don't know, a Volkswagen? to do it properly?

MC, we did the same thing when I was working. I have worked in Long term care, SNF, hospital and home health. They were all the same when it came to documentation. If you didn't write it down you didn't do it. Wound care is the only thing I miss about nursing. I really liked seeing a wound heal under my care. Very satisfying.

I was the same way, Iris. Got to do a lot of wound care. Nothing more satisfying than marking a wound healed after spending weeks working on it. If I had continued doing clinical work I was going to get Wound Care certified. And you are right, very satisfying.
