Granny's gone and done it again

She’s half Appaloosa genetically.
Sire is Gypsy Vanner, dam is Appaloosa.
I had a half Appaloosa mare. I think her mom was a Morgan due to her size and shape. Sire was a leopard App. Billie turned out black with white hair peppered over her body. Always wanted to try shaving her down to see if she was hiding her spots but never did. She was a character. Love Appaloosas. Stubborn and smart.

Had PT today. Always loads of fun....not. I'd probably enjoy it if I was into masochism which I ain't. Groceries then home. 14 miles on the interstate. AC in the van needs recharging so it's roll the windows down and drive fast with the radio cranked full blast.

Lost my little bantam hen yesterday that I'd been nursing along for 3 weeks. Strange really. She was doing great. I took out a slice of bread for them like always to get them moving out to the runs. Saved a few little bites for Princess since she and her main man Joker don't go outside. She gobbled down the bread, bouncing around very happy. I went to fill the water jugs from the rain barrel and by the time I got back, poor little Joker was standing over her body just crying his little heart out. He was frantic like he was calling for help. They had been together since last December when he had a pecking injury and then fowl pox.

Never had one die that fast, active one minute and stone dead the next. I waited a few hours for him to settle down and introduced a new lady friend to him. He immediately started to offer her tidbits and danced for her....luckily their grief doesn't seem to last as long as ours does.

I did, healthy hen, gave them a pumpkin and she was going for the seeds. I went to turn the water on and just in that short time she died. I thought she may have choked on a seed.
