Granny's gone and done it again

I know. So I don't know how I would know if I was getting too much. Does your body excrete excess?
I end up in the ER with low potassium if I don't take it. My Dr tests my potassium every 6 months. Plus Magnesium. I've had to get a little bag of that in the ER too.

Rain here today too. We had a decent storm last night. Lost tv a couple times. I've only gotten 1 tomato this yr and it was $4. a lb.
My groceries have gone up so much I can't buy all of my usuals anymore. 50 dollars when it used to be under 40.
My tomatoes are just coming g on. Small ones in the ground here. I've had a couple of tomate sandwiches now, love them. I'm seeing more red out there. My squash plant didn't work here. I may or may not try again next year.
Going to the Temple tonight. I'm so excited! Can't drive there myself..it's next town over. Austin will take me. Such a peaceful place to be. :)

If he can’t help you, you will just have to find a new dr.

I have rarely seen a surgeon that doesn’t recommend surgery. Surgeons have a God Complex, for good reason.
You put your life into their hands.
I've actually had a couple of surgeons say I wasn't ready for a knee replacement.
Then there was one that said I needed my right shoulder done. Talking about potassium..that's the first time I found out how low I was. Said I couldn't have the surgery because I was two points away from being hospitalized with low potassium. Went home without the surgery. I was right there being prepped. Well, went back to him in office after having taken some potassium. My shoulder had calmed down. He gave me a shot. Then some papers with exercises for my shoulder and said ..do these..you may not need surgery. Say what?? He was going to do surgery when he could see that exercises might help? Not going back to him. I found another..good one.

Nancy said she doesn't think he will operate on me.
Why not? And how would she know? Ask yr doctor if you can wear the nicotine patch before or during the surgery to control the cravings. Mercy, just saying you're having cravings is no reason for the surgeon to have a tantrum.

Every surgeon is different. Our mail lady is facing having her entire spine done due to herniated discs. She was telling me yesterday that she HAD to quit smoking and be smoke free for 6 weeks before they would operate on her. I asked her if she could use the nicotine patches and they said, no, she couldn't have nicotine in her system at all. Her doc gave her medication to help her quit and she is taking it and said it was so far so good.

So Granny, make sure you talk to the surgeon and find out what he wants.

Had PT this morning. We are working on the last muscle group now...the one that isn't working right. So frustrating. The goal is to get the shoulder muscles working and not the auxiliary muscles that are causing my right shoulder to crawl up to my ears every time I raise my arm. So far it ain't happening.

@Cynthia12, enjoy your time at Temple tonight. Some things are just good for your soul and a balm for your spirit.

Have a great day all. I'm resting the rest of the day. I don't care how I feel tonight, I'm going. :) I can hold onto Austin if needed. :)
I do love that determination
