Do yours bloom purple? City chopped mine down. I bought that from a nursery. I have one more that came up wild but its tangled in wild honeysuckle

That sounds yummy too. I love bbq and haven't done it in a couple years. I used to par-boil that meat and it was falling off the bone when it was done.

Well here's what I found. There are redbud leaves, they were very heart-shaped in the spring but now they look a little less so.

There is also a pie cherry bush growing up beside it, coming up from right under the propane tank. I'm sure the chickens probably planted it there:

Man, that meat is bringing back memories! haha I remember she put red pepper flakes in the water she was using to boil the meat in then when the meat was done boiling she would put whole potatoes in that broth and boil them tender then we ate them mashed with our fork and add butter and salt if needed . She put salt in the boiling water too

It blooms a purplish red, yes. It's so pretty! No redbuds in NM, I'd never seen one or heard of them before.

Larry, good to hear from you! The BBQ sounds yummy! Ours would have been beef, but not since GC got alpha-GAL allergy.

I wonder if my tree changes leaf shape too. Mine was a single trunk too. I googled too and it said it was a red fox. hahaa
