Granny's gone and done it again

Got successfully through a week and a half of radiation and chemo. August is almost here, besides getting his cancer treatments and getting my Crohn's into remission, I won't plan any things else for August and September. The Dr decided I can't wait for a colonoscopy so we had to make our appointments work with each other. I went on steroids until then.
They were going to put a port in him since he is unable to swallow the chemo pills due to the Crohn's in his esophagus. Can't crush them because the dust poses a danger. Instead of a port, I am donning a pair of gloves and dissolving it in water for him. They are slow release pills.
We come from family's of survivors so it runs in our genes. Not saying I like the long rides every day but it's working

Drive careful, Granny and positive news from the docs.

Our mechanic came this morning and tried to start the van. Nope. He thinks it's the starter motor gone bad. We are awaiting the tow truck now.

Every morning when I got in the car last week to travel to Liberty Missouri, I'd take a moment and pray that the good Lord would see me safely there and back and that the car wouldn't break down on the road or get a flat. Our van isn't a kid any more. It's 20 years old this year but the vehicle has been relatively trouble free the 17 years that we have had it so we keep it. It didn't give me a moment's trouble until DH and I were safely home on Friday, then Monday it wouldn't start. The starter had been acting a bit wonky on occasions but nothing to make us suspect it was about to suddenly die on us so the way I look at it the fact that it didn't strand me 20 miles outside KC was a freaking miracle.

Rain here today and a bit cooler. Only 71. Feels good.

@BigBlueHen53 my chickens will tolerate warm water. I use water from a rain barrel that sits next to our barn on the south side and it can get warm on hot days. Of course my dopes can have fresh clean water in their bowls and dispensers in the coop (no water outside due to mice and rats in the fields) and they will run outside to drink out of the nearest water puddle in the sun so I guess they figure if it's wet, being hot is okay....Silly little pea brains.

Everyone have a great day!

I hear you, Loves. I was doing a little over 300 miles round trip last week for my DH. Most driving I have done in over 10 years. But it was worth it considering the good care my husband got.

Besides going for his treatments, I closed up the Farmers Market last week They asked me not to throw garbage in the dumpster because the weight makes it cost more. So in the end, I left that stuff at the market for then to clear out. I paid enough rent over the 8 years I was there that they shouldn't have had a problem with me using the dumpster. It's not as if I was putting so much in it that no one else had room.
I worked in the building with no air-conditioning, fans or windows and my kidney function isn't so well because of the diarrhea from the Crohn's . I'm more scared of dehydration then almost anything else And it was hot.I badly wanted to leave there.

Oh the power of prayer when we have faith through Him. It was a miracle shown to you.

So glad that things are coming around for you and your husband. You're figuring things out. 💗

Morning all, Vevey In. for primary Dr. to Milton Ky. By Madison In. today. I'm not looking forward to that drive and tomorrow is going to be worse.
Not sure I understand all that, but I sure am glad you are getting this taken care of, even if it is a challenge.

Same. You, me, Microchick and Granny, all of us. Why are the doctors so far away???

the way I look at it the fact that it didn't strand me 20 miles outside KC was a freaking miracle.
I want a bumper sticker or a T-shirt that reads, "I don't BELIEVE in miracles, I DEPEND on them!" God is in the miracle business, so why are we surprised when He sends one our way! Hope you get your ride repaired quick and cheap! ❤️

True that. Goofballs!
