Granny's gone and done it again

Good morning Granny Land! It's early but I have a busy day ahead. Going to the Farmers market and grocery store this morning then will deal with the produce while it's to hot outside to tolerate. Pa is feeling better but still has a nasty cough. I'm afraid he has shared it with me I feel like horse pucky this morning but will work through it. Hope everyone has a great day.

Im sorry about last night and missing everyone. I was fighting my sleep hard. Robert caught me twice. Once with a smoke laying on my chest then on the computer at 3 am. No idea what I was doing . Robert said I was "telling everyone Gnight".
I think it has to do with things swelling up and bruising being at its worst, Granny. But things should start feeling bettr after that.
Ok, Thank you. Bleeding a little today.

Got 3 broodies that have been on the nests for weeks. Going to stick 2 chicks under each one of them tomorrow night if TSC gets some pullets in. I'll candle any eggs under them if they even have any left. I think a snake may have got some of their eggs from under them. I'm going to buy one of those fancy snake traps and get rid of them if they are caught in a trap inside a coop.
Need to update this. Only got 5 Cinnamon Queen pullet chicks at TSC. Didn't try to put one under the silkie hen. Put 2 under one of the full size hens and 3 under the other after dark. The next morning all was well. It still didn't goes as planned. Better. The chicks were already bonded. They seemed to prefer the Dark Cornish hen but then they all decided to take on whichever hen had the food. The two hens are sharing the chicks now. The Dark Cornish hens covers them while the Larger White Giant hen rushes out to defend their fortress. I've never seen such or ever thought this was possible. I've got a rooster that fed chicks and inspected their nest after hatching and still refuses to eat until the hens are fed.

We now have a up and coming flock of Bielefelder stock that we purchased from Greenfire Farms. 12 pullets with 6 cockerels. Just enough to expand it with gene pool diversity. Hoping to have hatching eggs by spring. 4 breeding pens with 3 females per pen with 2 spare males. Extra hens will be added to each pen to stop over breeding using hens that lay blue eggs so they can be safely sorted by breed.
