Bless your hearts. I know the feeling of a saddened and sick partner.Morning all. Slept great last night in spite of it being a strange bed. The Tree House is a gorgeous building that was built on Liberty hospital campus to provide lodging for patients and their families who live a distance from the hospital and are undergoing procedures and surgeries or Cancer treatments like chemo or radiation. It's set up like a huge house with kitchen living room and bedrooms. The ask for a 40$ donation per. Room but don't charge big bucks for their service. We had a private bathroom, and Dish TV in the room, all the comforts of home.
It sure helped us. As the took DH back at 8:45 to put a drain in his side. That would have been on the road at 4am otherwise.
The doctor said that this was common after gall bladder surgery and he might have to wear the little collection canister for up to 2 weeks. I just want him to feel better. He's been such a trooper throughout this ordeal and I am so proud of him. It breaks your heart to have your much loved spouse lookup at you and say he's so sick and there isn't anything you can do except hug them and give them acetaminophen.
The said his white count is down which is good news so hopefully we will be back home by later on this afternoon.
Too hot here. We can only go in the morningThat one says it takes about an hour to walk but with him, that’ll be more like 1 1/2 to 2 hours.![]()
We go in the morning and the evening lol not the middle of the day.Too hot here. We can only go in the morning
Thanks Cynthia. We both made it home by 3pm. DH came through the procedure with flying colors. Completely awake with a little Versed and a lot of pain meds to help him. He said he had a lot of fun talking to the doctor who did the procedure while he was working. He was a real chatter box and a hoot to listen to. For some reason his regular surgeon didn't do the procedure. Why we don't know but DH said while his surgeon was nice, this guy was nicer.Bless your hearts. I know the feeling of a saddened and sick partner.
I also had a place to stay in Salt Lake City when my husband went in for open heart surgery. Mitral Valve. They took his heart out of his chest to work on it. Was placed on the cardiopulmonary bypass machine. That surgeon did his job! Never a problem with his heart again. The things they can do today.
It will be so much better when your seething hubby can feel well again. You'll both feel better.![]()
I'm thankful the procedure went well and DH is on the road to full recovery! How's your shoulder? Is it telling you to slow down and take care of yourself too? You need to go rest and let the box fairy unpack everything. Don't have a box fairy? me either but it would be nice! Thanks Cynthia. We both made it home by 3pm. The plus is that he's feeling a LOT badder now. I'll explain that old joke later.
Right now we are both tired, hungry and did I say we are tired? Came home to find a mountain of Amazon boxes waiting to be unpacked pluss the over night stuff we took with us.
At least we don't have to drive back there for a week. Yay!
My dogs will unpack for you. Of course there might be a few tooth marks on the items.I'm thankful the procedure went well and DH is on the road to full recovery! How's your shoulder? good news. I'm glad you have a 3rd driver lined up.So, GC's surgery went well and the kids can head home in about an hour. She won't be able to drive for a couple of months. Guess Little Brother will be my chauffeur for a while. Or I'll have to drive myself. AFTER I go to the eye dr, that is.
