It's been nuts here all day. My kids finally got home at two minutes till 10. Melissa says she puked all the way home. Smart girl, she took a bucket with her. She's hurting something awful but we got her settled in bed with a boatload of Ibu they said she could have and her dog by her side. She's in for a rough ride for a while, I fear.

I don't know, H. She staggered in on two crutches, asked for water, then downed 800 mg of Ibuprofen and hobbled off to bed.

Is he ok? Are you? It's good to hear from you. How are the babies dealing w/ all this?

The most debilitating side affects are the hit it took on his memory/decision making/thought processes. Hopefully some of that can be reversed after all this is in the past. The other side affect that really bothers him is the'sun burn' on his seat from radiation. Epsom salts soaks, eucerin and dove soap are used to combat those affects. They are not giving the chemo so strong that he will lose his hair. The radiation works better if its taken with chemo.
We did have a reservation at a beautiful guest home that we could have stayed without paying but in the end, it made him anxious. Keeping routine is better for him and right now, he doesn't need the extra stress. So we cancelled our reservation.

Granny, I thought of you and your smokes.... You choose to smoke because it calms your nerves. So you choose calmness over anxiety.

The cancer treatments aren't good for a person either. But... We choose life over death so we take them even if we may end up battling side affects the rest of our life.
Just a thought about making choices....

Medicaid will help foot some of your mileage costs. The new truck we got is a hybrid (battery) and also a smaller engine so we do use a lot less gas.

When we come home, DH spends his time at the Good Will store nearby. It fills his mind with good thoughts as he looks for treasures that he thinks I could resell for a couple$$$. His last good find were antique wooden letter blocks that used to be used in a printing press. If he were at the guest house he would become a couch potato. There was nothing there to do and people with memory loss cannot easily pick up a new hobby. They did not have TV but he could have taken his computer along.

One set of those blocks sold to a museum and the second set just sold.
