Granny's gone and done it again

Looking at this recipe, Miss Iris, I notice it never really has a chance to rise... 🤔

But it looks quick and easy so I will try it at least once.
It doesn't rise. The yeast helps with the elasticity of the dough and adds a little flavor. You could let it sit longer than the 5 minutes to let it rise a little more. The name of the recipe was Good and Easy Pizza. I don't remember where I got the recipe but it was in the early 1970's.

Bella has ..no..platelets. 😭 None.
This vet was awesome. Wanted to take her back for another ultrasound. Didn't charge me. Said too much blood in the urine to get results for a UTI but this find was more important.
They found a bruise on her inner thigh. The Technician spotted it. No platelets to stop bleeding. He was going to put her on steroids..and anti biotic..but called a colleague because he wanted to see if he could think of something else to do. Colleague said..no anti biotic. Could cause more harm than good. He said he had never seen anything like this. Hopefully the steroids will help her immune system build up to help the platelets to start coming back. In the meantime, kennel. No jumping up on the couch, running downstairs, or playing with Cooper or kids. A bad bump could cause her to bleed out.
The Tech was giving me the do's and big dont's..apologized and said sorry I have to be so blunt..she could just go any time. I'm to take her in to my own vet in a week if she isn't doing well, two weeks if there's an improvement. Let the steroids work. Praying they work.
I also don't understand why she wasn't given blood? Did they even mention it? I'm so sorry, my heart is heavy for you both.
I should know when I start breeding them.

First roo sounds like a Delaware? Or a Brahma maybe? You realky loved your chickens . How long did you have them?
Delaware I think. I've had chickens on and off since I was around 9 I think..
I have known two dogs and one puppy with this. Happened after few weeks after they got vaccinated. Vaccine shut down their immune system. I don’t know how I kept that puppy alive e but I did. She wouldn’t eat for three weeks
Do you still vaccinate the same way? Star had bad reactions to her puppy shots and vet said she should only be given one at a time. No 3ways,ect..
My puppy was 8 weeks old. I vaccinated the whole litter. She just quit eating. My pups are voracious eaters so I knew something wasn’t right. I did a blood test and she had low platelet and low red blood cells. Her bone marrow just quit making them.
I'm glad it made it.
I love peach anything. :love
Shivers... Cant even stand the smell of a peach.

Do you remember those pizza kits from back when? Simple, cheap and almost eatable. Came with a powder mix for you to make the crust, can of pizza sauce and what seemed to be a powder they called cheese?

@Cynthia12, Poor little Bella! So sorry to hear of the ordeal and keeping her in my prayers.

I'm starting to really be wary of vaccines in our dogs. We have one cattle dog that is due for his distemper booster and I keep procrastinating it. I plan to just home vaccinate him and skip the vet this year as he is healthy as a moose. Rabies shot though is another matter. We have so much wild life that it's a given that they get that one.

Speaking of peaches. We have 6 heirloom peaches across the front of our property. They produce apricot sized peaches that are flavorful but they are so small that it takes a lot of them to make up jam. We also have an Alberta peach tree next to them that produced 3 bushels of peaches. this year for the first time. Big sweet juicy peaches. I called the neighbor and told them to send their 'work crew' namely their 12 kids or more, down to pick them if they wanted them. They did. It was a riot watching them work on that tree. But at least they got them and not the deer.

Every night I'm bumping a deer in the front yard that are helping themselves to the bounty of peaches we have this year.

They are a pain though, one more nail to cut.
I had one dog out of many that nails would grow very fast into a circle causing it to grow back into the pad. I based all dogs after that one as being the same but I never had that problem again. Keeping the dew claws is a new way of thinking for many of us because we were told they served no purpose to the dog. Some of us hang on to the old ways because(why fix what isn't broken) We just need more education in the matter. Tails? I've seen a few I wish were lopped off! they hurt when they are banging against my shins. lol

@Cynthia12. DH got the C&S back on his stomach abscess drainage. It came back that the antibiotic he is on is only an intermediate. Cipro and several others came back as a 'susceptible' on the sensitivity.

They said they are going to leave him on the Augmentin, which is the intermediate. Have you ever heard of passing up an "S" drug for an "I" when dealing with a post surgical abscess? I have to admit, I haven't. Every doctor I have worked with goes right for the antibiotic that has the highest "S" rating to it.
