Granny's gone and done it again

That's what I've encountered also, @Rambling Iris. Where I worked, we would do a C&S and the doctor would start say Bactrim DS to cover until the sensitivity came back. Then if the Bactrim was an I or an R, they would change it to a better antibiotic. If it came back with Bactrim being an "S" drug, they would keep them on that.

We didn't repeat the C&S but I was taking care of disabled and elderly patients so things were done differently.

Sorry, didn't mean to slight you. Meant to tag you but did cynthia instead. My bad. I lose track of who are retired nurses here.

I also don't understand why she wasn't given blood? Did they even mention it? I'm so sorry, my heart is heavy for you both.

Delaware I think. I've had chickens on and off since I was around 9 I think..

Do you still vaccinate the same way? Star had bad reactions to her puppy shots and vet said she should only be given one at a time. No 3ways,ect..

I'm glad it made it.

Shivers... Cant even stand the smell of a peach.
Yes but I have always done minimal vaccines since I learned about the problems certain vaccine have.

Yes, they mentioned. Would have to travel to Salt Lake City for all sorts of tests then the transfer. I can't imagine her going through all of that. I can't make that trip. I can't afford all of that. Yesterday was 500 dollars. Transfusions often mean hospital stay. We're talking 1'000's of dollars. And there's no guarantee that it would work.
I'm feeling guilty I can't do it, but then again I wouldn't want to put her through it all.
She's already bleeding so much more. This morning her towels were soaked. When I picked her up last night she groaned in pain. This morning her gums are not pink. White. I honestly don't think she would do well with a transfusion. I remember how horrible I felt being given 4 pints of blood.
She isn't pooping.
Calling that office again to ask about pain meds. My vets office here suggested calling them first. If they say to let my vet do it, the gal I've known for years at our vet said they would.

Vet says the steroids have some pain relief in themselves.
He says we're in that critical time period to see if the steroids are going to help. In fact he brought up the Transfusion because its an option they give. He said he really doesnt think it would help at this point. He didn't expect her to be better today. In fact he figured she would be worse. So.. let's see if she starts slowing down by Sunday on the steroids. Giving them a chance to work. We will know.

??? Bumping it how, MC?
It's a local saying I guess. Means accidentally encountering a deer, either bedded down or standing so that it startles and runs. Personally I envision it as bumping into a deer literally but it just means startling one so that it jumps up and runs.

These brazen little thieves come out about sunset and stand under the fruit trees munching away. Last few times I've gone out and here are deer about 100 feet from the house and they are standing there, under a tree heavy with fruit, happily chewing away and not even running unless I make a sudden movement or yell at them.

Yet when hunting season rolls around, they all disappear. into deer caves.

@Rambling Iris. We were both right! DH's doctor just called us and changed his antibiotics.

Girl we shoulda been doctors!
