How is he/she acting? Is Cooper a boy?

Cooper is my 7 year old boy Shnauzer. He's doing pretty ok..I catch him licking his paw every now and again. A stress sign. He misses her. It's hard on him when we've all gone out somewhere at the same time. Kids left today and I went shopping. He's all alone for the first time in years. He can hear the garage door open or even one of our cars drive up. We hear him barking like crazy. He stays by me all of the time.
I've never been without at least two dogs. I keep turning around expecting to see Bella standing there by Cooper.
