You're 100% right! It makes all the difference. "As a [person] thinks in his heart, so is he," the Bible also says. If we tell ourselves we are worthless, no good, etc., this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. But if we say, "I am smart, strong, capable," we become those things, too! One of my grand-daughters says, "I'm a strong, independent woman!" She has said this since her early teens and guess what? She is exactly that!
