Granny's gone and done it again

They look great. Just the one roo?
Thanks! And I had a bunch of roos lol that one was my first and died 2 weeks after the chicks hatched. I kept his two sons. One got sick and died but not before he and his brother fathered some more chicks LOL plus I had bought one. Then I kept some of the other twos sons for a bit. Eventually the son and the one I bought started fighting and I offed both. And then I think I got rid of some of the others too or else we moved first lol and the Lav Orp had 7 brothers and a sister. I kept one of the brothers and a sister but they got sick too. So I only had the Lav.

Two Legbar boys that we hatched. They stay underfoot and call it helping. Going to Home Depot Saturday to look for decking stain to refinish all of the deck we have. It's about 25 years old and could use a face lift.
Wow, beautiful!

I had a speckled Sussex hen. Sweet girl and pretty. I lost her to Marek's. It got her crop and I couldn't keep it from developing impactions. Couldn't keep ahead of it and it finally killed her.

Well, I survived PT. Therapist told me what I already know. Shoulder is still inflamed so he went easy on me. DH had taken a couple of movies of me working on splitting wood today. He said I was getting all the strengthening exercise I needed but with the bursitis still there, my shoulder was tight and I just needed to do stretches for the time being.

I just have the feeling that my shoulder is mostly healed but the inflammation is going to make my life miserable until either they have to inject it again or drain the Bursa and find out what sort of infection or inflammation I have in it. Or I just learn to live with it till it goes away on it's own which happens a lot with my joints. Not feeling too optimistic about it at the moment.

From there I ran the gauntlet of 'college is back in session' traffic to Walmart and picked up our grocery order then saw how fast I could hit the bypass around Kirksville and get back to the peace and quiet that is La Plata Missouri.

My little hen with the back injury isn't getting any better. May be a bit worse and I fear I am going to lose her. Her weight is dropping and she just can't use those legs for anything.

DH and I did get out for a walk and saw a 3 foot long black snake that was laying across the trail. Tried everything to get it to move including stepping on it's tail. It wouldn't get the hint so I found a long limb, scooped it up and showed it the other side of the trail...upon which it turned around and went back across the trail in the opposite direction.....go figure.

Aw, sad. Did not know Marek's could settle in the crop. I sctually don't know much about Marek's at all, I need to study up on it.

Sounds awful! After going through the surgery, recovery and PT only to now be dealing with bursitis on top of all that. Sorry to hear. Hope it resolves quickly. :hugs

Our little rural towns really are a blessing that way, aren't they?

Back injury? Do you know what happened to her? Do you have her caged or isolated?

🤷🏽‍♀️ who knows what goes on in a reptilian brain. Sounds like something a young squirrel would do, lol. That way. No, that way! No, wait!
