Granny's gone and done it again

2 of my previous pup buyer's have called and want a pup next year. One coming from Florida and the other from Idaho.

Idaho guy got a liver and white male who at the time the largest and most laid-back pup of that litter which I called Spud as in couch potato. He was in tears when he called Sat evening had just lost Spud recently due to a snake bite. He said he wants another pup from me and only me. Suppose to save him the biggest Liver and White male and start calling him "Tater" keeping with the theme

Aww, so sad about Spud! How old was he? You could train Tater to avoid snakes by using an empty plastic water bottle with dried beans or popcorn in it to make a rattle.

I never thought of that, I just made them for a cheap toy for them to play with in the puppy box.

Now I feel a little guilty for doing so. :(

My brother's dog in Tucson used to do battle with rattlesnakes on a pretty regular basis. He used to rush him to the vet but it got too expensive. I guess the dog developed a resistance or something because he'd swell up and get sick and miserable for a few days, but recover. Not the smartest dog apparently.
