Granny's gone and done it again

@Granny Hatchet, you keep up the good work. Sorry if we made you feel that way. We who are nurses can be pretty intense about such things, I know. Comes from experience and speaking for myself, I want people I care about to be with me as long as possible and as healthy as possible. So for me, I apologize. You keep doing what works for you. Stress sucks.

I woke up this morning with my stomach/gastritis kicking up. Expected it after the picnic. I realized compared to a lot of people around us, just how healthy we do eat. Not much there that was on my diet list. Told DH that at least it hadn't hit my colon,.....yet. On top of that my left foot is killing me. Think it's an inflamed bone spur. Sitting here with an ice pack on it.

In the light of Windows dropping support for '10' in a couple of weeks, DH spent the weekend switching his over to 11. Mine can't be switched so he traded it out for a spare computer set up to run Linux mint. I've spent the last 36 hours remembering my way around Linux. No longer want to throw computer and monitor down the hill into the ravine.

My one run in with fowl pox left me with no driving desire to ever experience it again in my flock.

@BigBlueHen53, glad you had a nice Sabbat. DH and I took a walk this afternoon. We had to chuckle. His knees are painful and my foot is painful. Told him all we needed was a flag a fife and a drum. Woods are starting to 'change' though. Leaves are starting to change and fall and there are enough acorns on the ground to represent a walking hazard. Really love this time of the year.

sorry for the loss. 101 wow.
He was so healthy. That man was skiing up on thise slopes in his 90's.
He's the heart surgeon that helped develop the heart lung machine the keeps blood flowing during open-heart surgery. He was at our Primary Children's Hospital doing surgeries on children back when I was taking Richard there on a regular basis. I remember seeing him and thinking, there's..that..heart surgeon. :)

My stomach too! I took some lactate medication..as I was getting some ice cream. Didnt take it long enough before. 🥴

I was awake at 3 am myself and never did get back to sleep. Feeling it now though! @Cynthia12, sorry to hear about your President. @Granny Hatchet , you're right, we did not mean to gang up on you, we just wanted to encourage you. You are strong and stubborn and you're doing great!
Thank you

yes it does. Thank you

ohh peeps, My back is hurting pretty bad right now. Tom is getting weaker by the day. He was helping me dress him but last couple days he wont even try. He just stands or sits there waiting for me to do it. He acts like he cant even stand up relying on me to pull him to a standing position when just last night he got out of bed alone.

So sorry, Granny. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for him. And you. :hugs

Mine was green beans that looked innocent but I quickly discovered that they were swimming in some sort of oil/grease, whatever. Hamburger that wasn't the 93/17 that DH and I on occasion eats....and my own sour cream chocolate cake that I made with whole sour cream instead of light because it was all I had on hand. Since you can't wrinkle up your nose at a pot luck picnic and toss everything in the trash and you HAVE to eat your own offering, which I have to admit was delicious, I pretty much have only myself to blame...:hmm

Here's hoping we both feel better sooner rather than later, Blue.

He.....OMG! And 101 years old? Talk about a life well lived. God Bless him! All the lives he helped save! Can you say what his name was, Cynthia? My husband asked. He worked for a electro-medical company's engineering lab that helped design and build defibrillators and EKG machines before he became Dr. Honey. He's not close to 101, thank goodness but he is curious.

Today I desired black coffee, I don’t know why it seemed so important to me. I even had various things come up throughout the day to deviate my mind from it. In the end however, I had my coffee. The sad thing is I didn’t have my normal coffee variety that I’m used to, it’s organic, but not the organic I am used to.
My desire was a strong black coffee, one where you can use a white cup and with two inches of liquid you can’t see the bottom of the cup.
In my anticipation it almost tasted good when I sipped a bit, but alas it was barely drinkable! Now what? I’m not one to easily throw something out, especially if I was the one that made it, I mean, surely there’s a way to resurrect it from its bad flavor, yeah I drink coffee for the flavor not the caffeine.
I have some Manuka honey here so I decided to add some of that. Even two tablespoons of Manuka honey didn’t really improve on the flavor it just ruined the Manuka honey.
The next option was to add some high quality cacao powder, but after adding a heaping tablespoon of cacao powder I lost the Manuka honey flavor so I added my last ingredient and decided that if it didn’t improve anything I’ll just drink it anyway.
The last ingredient was ice cream, it was just the right thing to bring it back to an enjoyably flavored smoothie textured drink.
By the time I added the ice cream the container was too full to insert my blender (one of those you put into the jar to blend it) I don’t remember what it’s called.
I don’t have any straws in the house, but I do have long stemmed dandelions outside so I got one of those and used it to lower the content in the jar. It certainly worked, try it sometime even just for the experience.
It turned out delicious!
