Wow. Our highs are still in the high 70's, low 80's! Our lows are in the high 40's, low 50's. But we may get some much-needed rain Monday and Tuesday.

How do you decide, @troyer, when it's time to replace a rooster?

When I get one that’s substantially better than the older one. For my purposes I am breeding to a strict show standard meaning that type/structure is of utmost importance, second is eggs, third is meat. Ultimately the whole package is being selected for in every generation.
If I have an older rooster with a mean temperament and a youngster coming up that is similar to or even slightly less quality I’ll replace the older one.
