Granny's gone and done it again

Conference was great as usual. President Oakes had me in tears.
He'll be set apart as President of the church after President Nelson's funeral.
Larry. I'm so happy for you! I know that pain. When my left side flared up I was using a walker. So painful. 💗

When Jesus died, the 4" thick curtain in the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom, exposing the Most Holy Place for the first time (Matt. 27:51 and Mk. 15:38. This seemed to indicate that since type had met Antitype, the ceremonial system that had pointed forward to Christ and the work He would come to do was needed no longer. It had been fulfilled.
Interesting concept. Have to admit I don't think I've looked at it from that POV. I do remember reading something about that, though, that the tearing asunder of the curtain represented discarding the old ways and embracing the teachings of Christ.

Times like this I really miss the professor who taught the theology course that I took through the church I used to belong to. She was a very smart lady who really made the old and new Testaments come to life by 'filling in blanks' so to speak. You could ask her anything about the Bible and she would have the answer, fleshing out what we were studying and if we had questions or didn't understand a lesson, she would explain and answer and where she had found it. A great teacher in every sense of the word.

I'm counting the hours almost until I can be pain free for a few months. Finally after all the hoops that I went through I get an epidural once again for the lower back and sciatica pain in both legs. Ma has been doing most of the chores and I don't like that. One other good thing is I have new hearing aids in route so I will be able to hear once again. Found some cheap reading glasses for reading only. Need to wear then when shopping and needing to read labels and using the computer. The little chicks that got the severe fowl pox are about over it finally. They are all spoiled rotten with treats while getting treatments in the afternoon.
I'm so happy for you. I know you have been dealing with pain for a long time. Always a relief to see a light at the end of the tunnel or at least suspect that somebody has paid the man who turns on the light at the end of the tunnel.
