Howdys all, new nurse came to sign Tom up. She was here 2 solid hrs. I am hurting just from getting everything she was asking for. She will send the nurse once a week and then PT & OT will come doing their evaluation.

That "green" stuff that stinks to high heaven. They grow it everywhere too, including in their backyards.

Yes, it took a lot of courage. She was terrified but did what was best for her. I think she's come a long way and hope she isn't gone for long.

Did not get any sleep at all last night. Just about 4 hours broken. Silly little cat of ours June Bug, decided it was time to go into one of her false heats. She was such a tiny little cat now as well as then that the vet accidentally left a bit of ovarian tissue in her. As a result she goes through false heats. She's 15 now so she doesn't do that as much as she used to but when she does it, it's a trip. She spent the night purring in my ear, crawling on me, head butting me, sticking her butt in my face and her nose and paws in my mouth. So I spent most of the night pulling her off of me and trying to get her to stay at arms length. Usually she curls up at my belly and sleeps there all night but wouldn't hear anything of it. I need to wake up and pay attention to her.

So I got to sleep for about an hour at 3AM and was awake off and on from then to 8 when I got up.

Not very productive today as a result.

Sounds like a few of us missed out on our zzz's. I set the clock for Lacy but Cooper kept getting me up so I just took her out at couple of times with him.
Stayed up at 6. Made the eggs and rice. He loves it. Of course, he's hungry.
I heard a cute litte voice coming upstairs saying..hi..hi. It was Jane and Ashton. Got them something to eat. They went to a daughter's house to be watched. Austin and Bronwyn pay her to watch when Bronwyn works in office. They're saving a lot of money having her watch. Child care is ridiculous. Mindi loves them to pieces. Fun news, she's going to be a Grandma for the first time which means I'm going to get my 14th great grandchild.

@Granny Hatchet skunkweed, my dear! Mary Jane. Wacky tobaccy, lol. It's legal now in lots if places, but it's still stinky. We got rid of cigarettes and now we have .... THIS!

So glad Tom has an alarm so you can sleep in peace. That was a long time coming, but ... better late than never, yes? Hopefully things will settle down as the nurses get into their routines.

@microchick, I do not envy you sharing a bed with a cat in heat! Your reports are always so vivid and funny, however. I can imagine myself in that stuation and it's hysterical! Although a part of me is feeling guilty for finding your discomfiture so amusing, I can't help but laugh out loud. Keep 'em coming!

@Cynthia12 congratulations on the new baby in the family. Babies are God's opinion that the world should go on!

DH and I got out for a walk this afternoon. 68 degrees, just a beautiful day after getting some well needed rain last night. Just enough to settle the dust.

@BigBlueHen53, June is a hoot. We will be in bed. She hops up, spends some time with me getting head scratches while I'm reading, then jumps down and heads for the living room. Pretty soon we are hearing this loud and muffled 'Rowl, Rowllll, Meow.....' at the top of her little lungs. It's amazing that a little 6 pound cat can make this much noise. DH wakes up and is like 'WHAT IS THAT!' I tell him it's June. I get up, come out into the living room and she is marching around with a pom pom ball cat toy in her mouth Meowing over and over again. I think that has something to do with her botched spay job. I remember asking the vet who did the surgery and he chuckled and said there wasn't much to do about it other than operate on her again and try to dig out the remaining ovarian tissue. I offered to bring her over to his house for a visit when she is in a false heat. He thought that was funny. On the bright side, her baby motel is gone so she can carry on to her hearts delight without bombarding us with kittens. Birth control with entertainment!
