Granny's gone and done it again

Setting a couple of dozen Crested Cream Legbar eggs today hoping to get at least a hatch with 6 pullets for a local. The Legbar pullets hatched last April have laid a few pullet eggs now. The pullets that hatched that are sons and daughters of my infamous "Legs" are laying well already. Even as only being half Legbar they are still laying a blue/green eggs that are larger than the pure Legbar hens lay.

Sorry, Larry. Are they helping with your pain at all? Tuesday is ... surgery?
Very little. I have to be so very careful moving even around the house. Must avoid going to the ER now. I did fix a nest box with a broody hen on eggs so they others in the coop cannot roost on top of her nest pooping into it. The crazy pullets in with her for what ever reason known only to them for roosting low down instead on a nice new roosting setup higher up. It's just crazy.

About the broody hen. This is her second time in less than six months. She raised some store bought chicks a few weeks back and immediately wanted more. She is on 6 eggs and fiercely protects them. Her pecks are still gentle on my hands. She is a pure Dark Cornish that was hatched here.
