Well. We put poor Atilla down tonight. She has been broody non-stop for ... I think going on six months? A long time anyway. And she's been SO crabby and mean and miserable. I just remembered what Mrs. K always says, to solve for peace in the flock. Every afternoon when I give the flock their scratch and worms, I've been taking her off the nest and putting her out there so she can have treats too, and exercise and poop, and maybe dust bathe ... and she is so MEAN to everybody! She chases and pecks everyone, even the not-so-littles she just weaned a month or so ago. She's so thin, too. And stiff. I just think ... she's going to die. Obviously her hormones are screwed up. She shouldn't be incessantly broody like that. So. I decided to give her peace and end her misery. Poor Atilla.

Yesterday..

I managed moving like that little old man Tim Conway plays to pick all the tomatoes, hang the bedspreads (to shot for room but fine for frost covers) over the line to dry before washing and putting away. Went up stair to start cleaning as brother called and came a day early. Took me 45 minutes just to clean the bathroom. Was still cleaning/dusting the bedrooms when he showed up early. So he helped finish. 3 loads of laundry and made dinner of sausage gravy (Libby's brand with a little extra milk) Bisquick biskits and fried eggs.

Got rain again last night. Bro is out hunting /scouting areas to hunt.

Wind is wild with gusts up to 60 MPH.

The sheriff who didn't do his job the first time finally called today. I had to file a request to dismiss/cancel the case as I have no forwarding address , WILL never manage to collect damages or back rent, so why waste yet more time fn mine or the courts end.

The letter had to be notarized so trip to the bank (going anyway) to get the done and then the final trip to the clerk of courts.

ON the bright side another 2 pounds to go and I will weigh what I did when I was 28.

Think we are having toast ala goldenrod for dinner this evening. AKA white gravy with chopped hard boiled eggs and onions in the gravy served over toast. Sis in law sent up a loaf of her sourdough bread.

way past the contagious stage as I have been fighting it for over a week, At least the fuzzy head is gone and the mucus factory is slowing down. Main issue is the body wracking/shaking coughing. Worse in the am OR if I get over heated.
