they told me they have nurses 24/7 then after he was on his way home she said she wouldn't have a nurse til tomorrow
Granny, the nurse that comes tomorrow will do the admission paperwork for hospice. They probably did not have an admissions RN available today. If they said 24/7 that means someone, either a nurse or aid, will be there all the time even at night. Be sure to ask the nurse tomorrow to be sure so you know the hours they will be there. When I worked hospice we did 12 hour shifts. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. We did everything for the patient bath, bathroom, meds, feeding unless the family wanted to help with some of it. Family could just come in and sit in the room if that's what they wanted. Ask lots of questions write them down so you get the answers you need.

I texted, they answered. I called, they answered, even at 2 in the morning.
