Granny's gone and done it again

Hi all, I want to thank all of you for the overwhelming amount of support I have read here in the past 2 days. Offers of phone #s for a shoulder was amazing but since there was a few of those as well I decided to come here . I think I told you about the horrible night Tom was having and it didn't occur to me until Cynthia mentioned that about the breathing something more was going on. Hospice nurse showed up and had questions for me. She finished and we went to his room and he had already passed away. I wasn't with him but I doubt he would of known that. He was where he wanted to be. home. The nurse made the phone calls and stayed with us til the coroner came.
Nancy came today and took us to the funeral home where just straight cremation hit me for $3200. I can get $1200. from welfare. Not sure how Im going to come w/ the rest.
Anyway, I feel very lost and Robert is taking it hard as well.
:hugs

won't the county pay for part of it. I know when Robert passed I believe the county/state paid for it. OR it was his cheating ex-wife to got stuck with the bill.

Just found this since twist brought it up.
Yes, most counties in the United States have indigent burial programs (sometimes called public health funerals) that will cover or assist with a basic burial or cremation if the family cannot afford the costs. The specific eligibility requirements and the amount of aid vary significantly by county and state.

At the turn off of the Interstate to head down the enchanted highway, Which is the way I go when heading out to the farm. Tis the northern lights behind the sculpture.

Hard .. to say the least. I'm glad your Nancy showed up. I knew she would.
It is expensive to lay our loved ones to rest.
There's so much to do and figure out after they're gone. I've been praying for you to know what to do. I cried for you last night. I know your pain. ❤️
I think Ive cried til Im dehydrated. All I have now is this pounding headache. Our Dr called me. Said we were her favorites and she reminded me of her last convo w/ Tom where he said what a good woman I was for taking such good care of him. She called me in Xanax and said she was going for surgery today (torn rotator cuff) but left instructions to staff to call her if I needed anything. Said she loved me.

RE-did the beet jelly from last week as it was to thick for syrup and to thin for jelly. IF it doesn't set this time not sure what I will do.
Also went through all the carrots and layered them in plastic containers with peat moss between each layer and into the gargae and basement fridges. One container from last year were still just a good as when I "put them to bed"

That is just plain awesome. I'm glad you have something to help you relax..a bit.
